Advances in skincare include products that can be used to prevent further damage to the skin, as well as repair and rejuvenate what has been lost to time, sun and genetics.

Prevention

Dr. Glicksman utilizes a full line of skincare products to help prevent further photo-damage and to treat the signs of sun damage and aging. Consultations are available to help guide patients through the various skincare options, including the management of adult onset acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and repair of skin damaged by years of sun or smoking. All of the products have been shown to have scientific benefits and a skincare plan will be determined only after a thorough evaluation. Samples, when available, will also be provided at no charge to give patients the opportunity to test the products without making a purchase.

Skin Peels

A variety of options are available for light skin resurfacing and the management of acne. Fruit acid peels such as glycolic acid, is available in varying strengths from 35% up to 70%. Patients are offered a series of peels that may help with minor discolorations, acne and enlarged pores. Slightly deeper level of peels can be obtained with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels, also offered in a variety of concentrations. The length of downtime will vary depending on the type and concentration of the acid peel, as well as the number of sessions recommended.

Skin Resurfacing Lasers

The latest advancement in treating wrinkled, aged or sun-damaged skin is the Active FX CO2 Fractional Laser.

BOTOX® and Facial Fillers

As a complement to surgical procedures or when surgery is not yet indicated, Dr. Glicksman offers BOTOX® and the newest FDA approved tissue fillers to soften the lines around the mouth, subtly improve the fullness of the lips, and lessen the lines around the eyes and forehead. Dr. Glicksman uses a range of soft tissue fillers, each indicated for the treatment of specific problems. Juvéderm Ultra Plus® is used most often as it remains soft, looks extremely natural, and produces minimal bruising or swelling. In addition, most patients will find it extremely long lasting, with consistent, excellent results for up to a year. Other soft tissue fillers, as they present to the market, are evaluated for safety, efficacy, and validity of their claims, prior to being used on patients.
